The Work Shop

In the spring of 2020, in an effort to become the go-to experts on sharpening, Work Sharp decided to start a YouTube series focused on sharpening education. My role was to produce the content from start to finish. This included:

  • helping create a roadmap of content

  • helping script/outline each video

  • setting up camera equipment and shooting each episode

  • all post production (editing, mograph, sound design, color grading)

  • breaking down long form content into high-impact short form video

  • thumbnail creation

Thumbnail Design

Youtube thumbnail design is really tricky. You only get a split-second of the viewer’s attention, so it needs to make an impact. The Work Shop thumbnails needed to include a headline and sub headline, branding, and impactful imagery.

Animation

Along with every episode needing specific on screen graphics, the original idea for the Work Shop was to be a variety show with specific segments throughout each episode. Below are a few of the transition animations I made to move viewers from one segment to the next.

Video Editing

My main responsibility week in and week out was to take the raw video and turn, what sometimes was hours of footage, into a compelling, informative, and concise video.
